Wy'east (Mt. Hood) in
the Oregon Cascades

Wy'east is a native American name for Mount Hood in the Cascade Range in Oregon, United States. Wy'east was named Mt. Hood for the British naval officer Alexander Arthur Hood by Lt. William E. Broughton who spotted the mountain from the Columbia River, near the mouth of the Willamette River on October 29, 1792.
