Russian Far East

The term Russian Far East (Да́льний Восто́к / Dal'nii Vostok in Russian) refers to the extreme south-east parts of Russia, between Siberian Federal District and the Pacific.

The Russian Far East includes the territories of Primorsky Krai, Khabarovsk Krai and Sakhalin. Major cities in the Russian Far East include Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

The Russian Far East should not be confused with Siberia, which - at least to the Russian mind - does not stretch all the way to the Pacific.

Another possible confusion is with the international meaning of the term Far East, especially when translating from Russian language, where the Russian Far East is called simply Far East.

Russian Far East also is used as the name of Russian Far Eastern Federal District.
