The Mississippi State University entry in the 2003/04 American Institute for Astronautics and Aeronautics (AIAA), Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Cessna Aircraft Company sponsored Design/Build/Fly (DBF) competition.

Phyxius is a composite structured, electric powered radio controlled aircraft. It is designed to drop up to 4 liters of water in a simulated firebomber role. Phyxius placed 11th out of 42 teams in the 2003/04 DBF competition, held in Witchita, Kansas, April 23rd-25th, 2004.
