Major world religions

There are generally considered to be twelve major world religions:

  2. Islam 1.1 billion
  3. Hinduism 1.05 billion
  4. Confucianism 400 million
  5. Buddhism 350 million
  6. Taoism 50 million
  7. Shinto 30 million
  8. Judaism 12 million
  9. Sikhism 9 million
  10. Jainism 6 million
  11. Bábí and Bahá'í faiths
  12. Zoroastrianism

However, these figures are disputed because of the difficulty to establish the number of believers in some countries, especially China.
