Khanate of Kazan

The Kazan khanate (Qazan Xanlığı) (1438-1552) was a state of Kazan Tatars, in the place of Volga Bulgaria (before 1236), nowdays Tatarstan + Mariy El, Chuvashia, Mordovia, parst of Udmurtia and Bashkortostan.

Capital - Kazan. (-1552). Capital in occupation period (1552-1556) was Miş qalası.

In 1438 it became independed on Golden Horde.

In 1552 it was coquered by Russian Tzar Ivan Grozny.
