Hastings is a town located in Jefferson County, Oklahoma. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 155.

Geography

Hastings is located at 34°13'39" North, 98°6'31" West (34.227375, -98.108673)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 155 people, 72 households, and 50 families residing in the town. The population density is 122.1/km² (317.1/mi²). There are 87 housing units at an average density of 68.6/km² (178.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 93.55% White, 1.29% African American, 3.87% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.29% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 72 households out of which 16.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.1% are married couples living together, 6.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.2% are non-families. 25.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.15 and the average family size is 2.57.
