Gary Burton

Gary Burton (born 1943) is a jazz vibraphone player.

Burton developed an innovative technique of playing with four mallets, rather than the standard method of simply using two mallets.

He has recorded with Carla Bley and Astor Piazzolla, among others. Burton has led his own groups as well, and was the first major jazz figure to feature guitarist Pat Metheny.
