Fully Qualified Domain Name

An FQDN is the human-readable name that includes a computer's hostname and associated domain name. For example, given a hostname of "foo," and a domain name of "bar.com," the FQDN would be "foo.bar.com."

(Taken from a RedHat Linux manual.)

Note that this is not a URL (even if a FQDN is sometimes used for that). A URL should start with "://", and thus includes the communication protocol (like "http://", or "ftp://").
