Dunes Road is a town located in Palm Beach County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 391.

Geography

Dunes Road is located at 26°29'3" North, 80°7'7" West (26.484050, -80.118514)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²). 1.3 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 391 people, 136 households, and 110 families residing in the town. The population density is 290.3/km² (756.0/mi²). There are 142 housing units at an average density of 105.4/km² (274.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 91.56% White, 6.39% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.77% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.28% from two or more races. 4.35% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 136 households out of which 39.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.2% are married couples living together, 13.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.4% are non-families. 14.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.88 and the average family size is 3.14.

In the town the population is spread out with 28.6% under the age of 18, 4.1% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 32.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 98.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.1 males.
